What has happened to my sectional garage door?

Sectional garage doors are very reliable. They work using a mechanical system of cables springs, pulleys, and rollers, which is under significant tension.

They are most often designed to use an automatic operator However, all garage door mechanism are subject to wear and tear over years of use, and are generally repairable.

The door may have failed because one of these parts has worn or broken. 

 

• Broken Springs, you may hear a loud bang, or you may see parts on the floor or the door may just suddenly become heavy and unwieldy. This is repairable
